what's a little rain?

Little Miss Ruby just turned two and Baby Charley is  already three months old.
A little rain could not keep us from taking some pictures at Miller Park.
"Park" to a two year old means swings and slides.
Only it was too wet for swings and slides.
Poor little Ruby.
She made it quite clear where she wanted to go.
But she also gave some sweet smiles and played peek-a-boo with a hat
I knit for my daughter's senior pictures five years ago.
Charley did her part.
She smiled.
She cooed.
She held her head up.
Then she napped.
Pete and Janet?
Champs as always.
Love this family.

She was determined to make it to the park.
So off she went.
What's a little rain?

meet the scheets.

I recently met the Scheets family on the lovely grounds of Bloomington Country Club.  They looked absolutely stunning and the weather was picture perfect to capture some keepsake images.
In July, I met Mollie and Todd with their three boys on the hottest day of the summer. It was such a treat to meet agian and take some pictures of their family when we weren't all drenched in sweat!

Mollie, this picture makes me happy!

good times.

Nicholas John Chambers 23 hours ago via twitter:  Coffee and photoshoot with my mother. Great time.

When this tweet showed up on Facebook, I entered my comment:  "good times."
I read it back to myself and thought, "that sounds lame."
Delete.
From across the table, Nick mocked, "Really Mom? 'Good times?'  Fail."
"I deleted it.  I have nothing witty or cool to say."
"Well don't ever say, 'good times.'"
I hit the "like" button and said nothing further.

Bribery is usually involved when I take pictures of Nick, but he actually asked me for this little photoshoot!   As a musician/songwriter he needed some new promotional shots and provided creative input into the images. He loaded the Radio Flyer with an old Roland keyboard, Daddy's even older guitar, and a ukelele named Eleanor Rigby.  After a quick Starbuck's run, we stopped at one of my favorite locations in Bloomington...under a downtown overpass.  Let's just say I was glad to have a strong man with me, even if he was only armed with a guitar.

Spider man and the amazing hanging guitar.
Rigby kept falling off the wagon, raising safety concerns for my future grandchildren.
I don't care how lame it sounds.
  Good times.

tutu tummy time on a table.

Ruby and Charley sharing tummy time on the table.
Sweet little cutie pies.
They are distracting me from my massive "to do" list.
Oh well.
That list can wait its turn.

katie.

After a very busy September in the classroom, our school has a four day Fall Break.  I am using some of the time to schedule a couple of sessions and work on my blog.  I have wanted to present larger images on my site for a long time, but haven't been able to figure out exactly how to make that happen. I am very proud to say today was the day I figured it out!  And....to show you just how cool it's going to be I thought I'd post a couple of shots from Katie's senior shoot.  She claims she doesn't like getting her picture taken, but the camera definitely likes her.  I will posting more later, but for now....here's Katie...

nicole.

Nicole's senior session was the perfect way to kick off the fall photo season.

Though she doesn't remember, one of the first conversations Nicole and I ever had occured when she was a tiny little girl. She had been playing at her Aunt Michele's, and I stopped over for lunch. When I walked in the door, she looked me up and down and asked why I had paint all over my clothes. I described the project I had been working on that day, and she seemed satisfied with my explanation...until I got ready to leave. She politely said good-bye then added, "And next time, I don't want to see you in those painting clothes!"

I like a girl who speaks her mind.

Enjoy the sneak peek...
