family ties.

My friend Mindy asked if I was up to taking pictures for her family...
including all twenty-two members: siblings, spouses, cousins, grandma and grandpa...
"Any pets?" I asked.
Surprisingly there are none.
So I agreed.

Then came the difficult task of clearing everyone's calendar.
I left that up to Mindy.
My task was not nearly so tough.
I only had to caputre the love that ties this family together.
They made it easy.

And finally...
cool shades and a squishy belly button to end our session.
Of course.

oh brother.

 Oh brother...
these brothers are so much fun.
It was more playdate than photo session with Caleb and Joshua.
We played peek-a-boo, blew bubbles, and finsished off with a run through the garden hose
in their beautiful backyard.
Oh the eyes on these boys.
Wow.

It's always a pleasure to romp around with these two brothers
and capture the moments....while trying to stay dry.

brucker fam.

The Bruckers have added baby Judah since the last time we met for pictures.
Big brother Elijah has grown up so much too...he is so loving toward his little brother.
Eli also wanted to get in the basket just like his baby brother.
Why not?
 Such a sweet family.
Oh my.
 And finally
if you ever want to quack like a duck,
just look in my camera bag
and you will usually find a quacker.
Typically John or I are the ones to use it,
but Elijah just couldn't resist.
Quack, quack.

Clearly a favorite.

stella girl.

 Oh sweet Stella girl.
How you make me smile.
You started your life so early and so tiny.
Look at you now.
Full of life and giggles.
Mommy and Kylie wanted to surprise Daddy with some Father's Day pictures.
Except guess who came home early from work?
Oh well.
Perhaps the surprise was spoiled, but the pictures certainly weren't.
These girls are STUNNING!

Is there anything more precious than a baby girl in her christening gown?
I posted the above image in black and white last week.
But, oh how I love it in color too.

Sweet little Stella girl.

happy birthday brady.

Brady just celebrated his first birthday.
His sweet smile and cute curls are to die for.
He also has a fun disposition and was a joy to follow around with my camera.

Thanks Derek, Lisa, and Brady
for a fun time at the park!

project 52/24 {black and white portrait}

I love black and white images.
Really love them.
I liked this one in color as well.
But there was something about it.
The folds of the bonnet.
The timelessness of the christening gown.
Her serious little face.
The light pouring through her nursery window.
It all begged for black and white.

three sons.

Rule of thumb for newborn photography is to capture them sound asleep.
But every now and then a sweet babe will look right at the camera
and melt my heart.
Meet Preston.
The first time I took pictures of big brother Zachary
he was just days old.
Now he's almost two and so cute.
He had lots of smiles,
but there's something about his expression here that
well,
melts my heart.
Biggest big brother Gavin had lots of giggles.
He also had a great idea to put baby Preston in a basket
while he and Zachary peeked in.
Except that's not exactly what happened...
Congratulations Borne family on your three sons!

project 52/23 {rings and things}

Well worn ring with my kids' birthstones
and a diamond in the middle
and a letter I received from Nick this Mother's Day.
Blessed.

katlyn and her sisters.

My son's girlfriend Katlyn recently turned twenty-one.
Her family took a little road trip from Kentucky to celebrate.
The vehicle was loaded with little sisters.
Sweet, spunky, silly, smart, stunning
s i s t e r s.
It didn't take long for me to grab my camera
and follow these splendid girls around my backyard.

Oh Nick.
And then we went inside and opened presents.
One of which was a friendly giraffe.
Check out Katlyn's new blog where she writes neat stuff
and shows some of her amazing artwork.
