going my way?

One year old twins Natalie and Rachel are on their way...
and we did get them pointed in the same direction.
I've been giggling at my computer this afternoon as I viewed the images we caught.
They are both so so cute.
And hilarious to watch as they interact.
I'm so glad we we able to join them in the park this morning!

Natalie did not seem to mind when Rachel decided to sit on her neck.
That's some serious sister love.

picking pretty piper's precious pictures.

Catchy title for this post, don't you think?
Before going any further, try saying it five times...quickly.
"Picking pretty Piper's precious pictures."

Wasn't that fun?

Piper recently celebrated her first birthday and keeps getting prettier every day!
Even when having her picture taken during the hottest week of the summer, she kept her cool.
Picking which pictures to post was no easy task...but here are few favs...
Where does the saying "pretty as a picture" come from anyways?
She's prettier than a picture!

After braving the heat for as long as the photographer could stand,
we headed inside for some cake...
which Piper obviously LOVED!

While Piper took a quick bath, her daddy prepared to finish what was left of the cake.
Meanwhile, I sneaked in some sweet pictures of big brother Jackson.
Before we knew it, Piper was done with her bath,
and I had to capture a couple last shots of her cuddly cuteness.
Happy Birthday Piper!

left hand and right hand: together again.

The Hari Family was scheduled to have their pictures done in May.
All was fine until it rained the entire weekend we had planned to meet.
The Facebook message trail I have with both Jess and Tyler to reschedule is pretty interesting.
It seemed the right hand didn't always know what the left hand was doing.
They both were messaging me...without the other one knowing.
I finally started messaging both of them...
just to make sure we all ended up at the right place and the right time...
with their three boys all ready to go.

I love this family.
They love the LORD.
They love each other.
They love people all around the world.
They love to laugh.
I hope they love their pictures.

sleeping beauty.

 Introducing Miss Chloe.
Otherwise known as Sleeping Beauty.
She was celebrating her one week birthday the day we took these pictures.

Her mommy and daddy are both teachers at my school
and are enjoying their summer with their sweet babe.
Mommy's recent Facebook statuses tell the story:

Who knew such a little one could produce so much laundry? :)

What do you do with a baby who is wide awake from eleven until two or three each night?
I have no idea how to switch the day sleeping to night...

Thankful for grandmas and three hour stretches of sleep. :)

We are attempting to teach Chloe the difference between daytime and nighttime.
So far she remains unconvinced.

Patron Verse of Parenthood:
"We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed." - I Cor. 15:51

Hoping for two hour sleep increments tonight...
And feeling a little like I might be wishing for the moon?

Kyle and Amanda,
She'll sleep through the night at some point.
So will you.
Sorry to say though...
even when kids move out,
they still bring mounds of laundry home.

My heart is full as I watch my sleeping girl. Motherhood is wondrous!

all grown up.

 "You're all grown up."
I used to hate it when people would say that to me after not seeing me for a long time.
No one has said it to me in years because...well, I've been a grown up for a LONG time.
I don't think I said it when I saw the Tompkins family, but I thought it.
I knew Jordan, Isaac, and Micah when they were in middle school and haven't seen them for a while.
Now they're "all grown up."
Jordan's engaged.
Isaac will be leaving soon to serve in the military.
Micah will begin college this fall.
It was fun to capture some family pictures before the next season in their lives.

I want to say something about a this being a typical "NORMAL" family,
but that would be cheesy, wouldn't it?
Thanks, Tompkins, for a fun night in uptown Normal.

borne boys.

I've done some pictures for the Borne family before, and it's always fun to see how their boys have grown.
Zachary is nine months old...and on the move.
He gave us his best smiles when he was set free on the grass to wiggle around.
 Gavin is almost five.
I love this serious look...so wide eyed.

The more times I look at this picture of Zachary, the more I love it.

Oftentimes, I love the final shot of a session.
This is no exception.
Zachary is safe in Mama's arems.
Right after I took this picture, it started to rain.
Definitely time to go home...or to get some ice cream.
