hoover fam.

We met the Hoover family earlier this week on a perfect night for pictures.
Their busy little boys were so much fun
and stopped running just long enough to give us some great images.

garrett {class of 2015}

Garrett is heading into his senior year at Cornerstone Christian Academy.
While I've never had him as a student,
it has been a joy to watch him grow into such a fine young man.

We begin his preview with a random pedestrian photo bomb.
No clue who this guy is, but he made it into Garrett's senior picture collection.
I'm sure the Paveys will frame this one and put it over their fireplace.

And now, back to our regularly scheduled preview...

At the end of his session, Garrett said every photographer's favorite words:
"This was actually fun."
Indeed it was.

engle girls.

Today's reminder:  Don't forget to smell the flowers.
Also:  Make sure the flowers you smell match your dress perfectly.

I have been photographing these girls since they were itty bitty.
They continue to grow in beauty and personality!

Thanks for a fun morning, girls.
We'll see you in the fall!

jasmyn {class of 2015}

 Stunning Senior.
She has a gentle and kind spirit.
A smile that will light up any room.
And a bright future.
Oh...and some pretty sweet pictures!

brucker fam.

The Bruckers have added a new brother into the mix since we last saw them.
I asked Trina if it was hard going from two kids to three.
She claims going from one to two was harder.
After spending time with their newest addition,
I understood.
Baby Caleb is so sweet and content.
What I call an "easy baby." (as if)
We'll see what she says in a couple of years when he is trying to keep up with these two...

Superstar Family.

wilcox grands.

This is the first time we've had a session with the Wilcox grandchildren.
They are a-d-o-r-a-b-l-e !
Mya is an absolutely perfect model.
Little Miss Zoey was getting ready to celebrate her first birthday.
Her mama brought this cute mailbox which she plans to use in a picture every birthday.
What a great way to watch her grow!
Johnnie's truck is a family heirloom.
And although he didn't really want me to...I did catch one smile!

Sweet cousins.

ruby and charley.

When we get together with Ruby and Charley,
it's more like a play-date than a photo session.
They are as beautiful and delightful as ever...

Just keeping it real.

roman holiday.

So John and I went to Italy for a couple weeks to celebrate our thirtieth (yikes) anniversary.
And took pretty close to a million pictures.
I haven't even been through them all, but have been asked by family and friends to share a few.
If you're the kind of person who doesn't enjoy other's vacation slide show, feel free to move on.
We won't be offended.

The rays of light in St. Peter's Basilica were absolutely amazing.

I think I want to be a street photographer when I grow up.

 Bubble chasing.
Bird feeding.
Bride photographing.
 Seriously, this was so sweet.
With crowds of people strolling through the piazza,
this groom held a private little photo session with his bride.
I just couldn't resist joining him!

This colorful little fishing community is in the same lagoon as Venice.
I thought I had landed at the end of  a rainbow.
It might be the cheeriest place on earth.

Our daughter spent some time in Italy when she was in college and said this was her favorite place.
I might have to agree.

That one leaning tower.

View of Florence from the bell tower.
And cell phone selfie inside the bell tower.

"Closing thoughts?" I asked John.
"It was glorious," he answered.

That works.
It was glorious.
