gift idea.

Meet nine month old Sam.
He's really cute.
Obviously.
And, even though he's crawling all over, he stayed in the basket I brought.
So, we got along quite well.
It was fun to take some family shots with Grandpa and Grandma Hardy too.

This session was actually a shower gift from a family friend.
I thought that was a great idea.
If you know someone having a baby and don't know what to get them for a gift...
consider giving me a call.
We'll set something up.

For now...enjoy this sneak peek of Sam and his wonderful family...

almost time to go home...

Final Featured Banner

If you follow my blog, you know that I get a theme from the folks at mcp project 52 each week
and take a picture that captures the theme.
There are over 3500 participants in this group
and some amazing, outstanding photography.
On Saturday mornings, they feature the top ten images for the week and reveal the next week's theme.
Well...
drumroll please....
three of my entries have been featured in the top ten!
Totally humbled.

shane shane shane.

Aretha sang "Chain chain chain...chain of fools...."
But we were singing "Shane Shane Shane...Shane is cute..."
I think it's a better lyric...and this little guy seemed to like it!

We had a great time at McGraw Park taking his pictures
(and capturing a few of Mommy and Daddy too).

He was a little shy at first...

...but it didn't take long for Shane to feel quite comfortable with his photo shoot!

river of life and other kinds of wah-wah.

There was "wah-wah" under the bridge.
Elijah got his first taste of "wah-wah" from a drinking fountain (so cute!).
And we sang an old song we used to do in children's church called "River of Life."
Thank goodness it wasn't raining...

We were actually supposed to take these pictures of Elijah and his parents last weekend
when all it did was rain.
Thankfully, the weather was lovely...as is this family!
Thanks Adam, Trina, and Elijah for allowing us to catch these sweet images.
We had a wonderful time!

River of Life

I've got a river of life flowing out of me
Makes the lame to walk and the blind to see
Opens prison doors, sets the captives free
I've got a river of life flowing out of me.

Spring up, oh well (gush gush gush gush) within my soul
Spring up, oh well (gush gush gush gush) and make me whole
Spring up, oh well (gush gush gush gush) and give to me
That life abundantly.

project 52/21.

{a need for speed}
 Ready... Set... Go!

I caught my project 52 picture in record time this week.
I had just returned home from a session with an adorable one-year-old (child, not squirrel),
and was greeted by this little fellow.
I quickly changed my lens, hoping he'd hang around for a little photo shoot.
So glad he humored me.
I've been giggling all day.

Stay tuned.
The pictures of the one-year-old are even cuter!!

{spring fever}
Nine More Days

Spring fever is alive and well in my classroom.
At this point, it seems as if the only remedy is...summer vacation!

Thanks to mcp action project 52 for including this image in the top ten favorites of the week.
It's so humbling in light of all the amazing work in this group.

sweet rest.

Today was a perfect day for a nap.
Cold.
Rainy.
Feels like November, but it's May kind of day.
Even though I had to reschedule three sessions that I was really looking forward to...
this has been a wonderful weekend of rest.
I'm also nearly caught up on my editing.
Ahhh....sweet rest.

By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing;
so on the seventh day he rested from all his work.

{window light}
Mother's Day Flowers
I've carried them around like Meg Ryan carried her daisies in "You've Got Mail."
In one week, they've brightened a windowsill, countertop, table, and bathtub.
They make me happy...because the ones who gave them make me happy.

happy mother's day.

 "Hey Lady!"
Abby is in my fifth grade class, and she recently addressed me this way.
I looked her in the eye with my best teacher face and replied,
"That's Mrs. Lady to you."
So now she calls me Mrs. Lady.
But when she tried to call my husband "Mr. Lady" tonight, he quickly clarified his name.

For Mother's Day, Abby and her mom had some sweet mother-daughter pictures done.
There are many to choose from, but here is a peek into our evening at the park...

strawberry shortcake tiptoes through the tulips.

Piper looked so cute in her strawberry sundress and hat...
And although, at nine months, she can't really tiptoe through the tulips yet,
she did enjoy rocking in them...and eating them.
Jackson had a different flower of choice...
"He loves me...he loves me not...he loves me..."
We were almost ready to leave when Piper's mommy pulled out the wings and tutu...
Um yeah, we'll take some more pictures!

Hand in hand, with fairy grace,
Will we sing, and bless this place.

Yes, please.

This is the day that the LORD has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.
