no more tears.

When we knocked on his front door, we heard him.
Through the door.
Crying.
Not just a little.
But just like magic,
once we were inside,
the tears turned to smiles and giggles....
and so much fun!

This was our first time to take pictures of little Michael,
and I hope it's not our last
because as always, we feel like we made new friends.
 It's all about perspective.
I wanted to capture those sweet little lashes.
Michael wanted to look straight up at me.

Back and forth.
Back and forth.

a couple more things.

Life at the Brown's.
Just keeping it real.

a thing or two.

"In this box (or basket) are two things
I will show to you now.
You will like these two things," said the cat with a bow.
"These things will not bite you.
They want to have fun
Then, out of the box
Came Thing Two and Thing One!"
-Dr. Seuss
The Brown family is counting their blessings in the "little things."
Vincent and Alistair will turn six weeks old tomorrow.
They are healthy, strong, and alert,
and take turns sleeping....
Their mommy had their little Thing One and Thing Two outfits made,
and they are spectacular.

Big sissy Chloe played with Daddy
while Mommy and I fed and soothed the boys to sleep.
Then...it was time for some family pictures!
 Look at me!
Look at me!
Look at me NOW!
It is fun to have fun

But you have to know how.
- Dr. Seuss (and Chloe)

Congratulations Brown Family!

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good,
for those who are called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28

A better ending than Dr. Seuss, I must say.

they got tall.

Years ago, when Mr. Gilroy and I were their fifth grade teachers,
they were shorter than me.
Now they're tall.
In so many ways.
Boys to men.
Steven.  Noah.  Jacob.  Drew.  Caleb.

When we took these pictures,
I was wearing my big brown, down coat
(think Eskimo...or a giant Tootsie Roll).
They were not.
It was COLD.
It didn't seem to matter.
I laughed the entire time.
They laughed a bit too.

Enjoy your last weeks of high school, "boys."
Thanks for letting me spend a little time with you now that you're tall,
remembering when you were small,
marveling at who you've become,
and anticipating all that lies ahead.
