over the pond.

This is my current facebook profile picture.
My daughter took it of me in London this spring.
While I'm not typically a fan of posting pictures of myself,
this image seemed an appropriate invitation to view a book of snapshots
from our recent trip over the pond.

I must warn you.
This book contains 136 pages.
Enter at your own risk.
The hardcover will be on my coffee table in a week or so.

Shout out to blurb books.
You do good work.

just doing a little editing.

I'm finishing up a little editing for the Whitworth family tonight.
I fell in love with this image of Carson.
1.  His sweet little face.
2.  The wispy strands of his hair.
3.  The earthy textures in his tree hideout.
4.  The natural light shining in.
5.  The vintagey (but not too much vintagey) tone.
6.  Pretty much everything about it.

saturday in the park.

Little Lucy au naturel at the park last Saturday.
She is easy goin' and full of smiles!
Big brother Henry moved in for some shots..
Every now and then, Lucy would plop her head down...so cute.
Really, holding the pose with a smile on your face is a lot of work.
I'm really happy that John and I have gotten to take some pictures for the Levines twice now.
We'll meet up with them again in September and see how their kiddos have grown!

project 52/21 {close}

These little ants hang on clips that keep my patio tablecloth in place.
They have been known to startle dinner guests...until they look closely!

whitworth family: chase and shoot.

It's been about a year and a half since we took pictures of the Whitworth family.
Since then they've added sweet baby Lila.
Big brother Carson is 3, Twins Collin and Dylan are 2.
Mom and dad are... well...busy.
We had two cameras on hand to capture these active little boys....
chasing and shooting (their pictures, that is).
As I look through the images...they make me giggle.
Definitely worth the chase.

A year ago Carson wouldn't sit still.
Now he's ready for a modeling contract.
Who knew?
 Sweet baby Lila.

project 52/20 {patterns}

All of creation is filled with pattern, order, and design.
My backyard is no exception.

We planted new knock out rose bushes a couple of weeks ago.
This is the first bloom.
It's going to be a good summer.

hannah, part two.

We took round one of Hannah's senior pictures in the fall.
http://susanchambersdesigns.blogspot.com/2011/10/hannah.html
And then we ran out of light, with a promise to meet again in the spring.
Hannah brought along her friends Nicki and Sara for a few quick shots in Uptown Normal.
I've been Hannah's mentor this year as she wrote her senior paper
which she defended before peers, faculty and administration.
It's been a blessing to chat with her over morning coffee to share ideas and dreams.
(once we were both late for school because we lost track of time!)
Anyhow...
she is so lovely
and wise
and compassionate.
I'll be watching her.
She'll make a difference wherever she goes.

The eggs have hatched.
Baby robins are kinda weird looking.
Just sayin.

catch me if you can.

 I caught him eventually.
But Colin wanted to run!
He has the brightest eyes and cutest little smile!
Hmmm...this is how he looks when he is thinking...
 smooches for mommy...
and a quiet moment near the end of our session...

project 52/19 {from trees}

We discovered a little nesting going on in one of our lilac bushes this week.
Mama let me have a few minutes to do a quick photo shoot with her eggs.
Of course, she kept watch while I worked.
I'll be ready for the newborn session when the birdies hatch.
But until then...I'm going to give this little family some privacy.

shannen.

We absolutely had a blast taking Shannen's senior pictures.
She brought her mom and friend Alyssa along.
There was never a dull moment, trust me.
Shannen is lovely and was a dream to photograph.
Here's a peek at her session...

So pretty...I love the light on her gorgeous hair.

Awesome shoes.

project 52/18 {natural light}

First bit of sunshine all week.
It makes me happy.
