and then we had cupcakes.

It's very important to bribe, I mean reward,  young children during a photo shoot.
Krista makes the best cakes around, so of course, the reward of choice was cupcakes.
Hannah and Laurel are the best kind of cuteness and personality packaged together.
You won't miss either when you look at these pictures.
But the promise of cupcakes was definitely dangled in front of one of these little girls more than the other.
See if you can guess which one.

We always love hanging out with the Gaffs.
This night was no different.

Picking flowers and wearing a crown.

 Love. these. pictures.

 Hannah's hands and Laurel's face.

I'm pretty sure she's looking for the way home.
We eventually found it.
And then we had cupcakes.

warren family.

I love this picture.
I'd better.
I stumbled into a thicket of burrs in order to capure it.
And spent the rest of the session picking them off.
It was worth it!

We always enjoy getting together with the Warrens for pictures.
Piper and Jackson are just precious...and sooooo photogenic!
Enjoy this peek into our Sunday at the park.

Jackson's mad face.
I simply love it.

Bye bye.
See ya later.

hannah.

I teach at a school where pre-schoolers high-five seniors every day.
Yup, three year olds through teenagers in one building.
So even though my students eventually leave fifth grade,
I have the joy of watching them grow up.
They grow in stature.
They grow in knowledge.
They grow into amazing individuals.
And I get to watch.

I'm a little nostalgic looking at Hannah's senior pictures.
She is as delightful as she looks.
Sharp as a tack.
Deep as the ocean.
A tiny bit flighty like a bird.
(Just sayin')
And she is a true beauty.
I think these pictures reflect who she really is
(well, maybe I pushed her with the aerial shot at the end).
She is an amazing individual.

love love love the blue bike.

I loved being her teacher,
and I loved taking her pictures.

project 52/42.

{true beauty}
Former fifth grade student.
All grown up.
She is a deep thinker.  A lover of books.
A bit whimsical.
And she is beautiful.
From the inside out.
That's what makes her beauty true.

hess family.

Apparently it's been several years since they got their family pictures taken.
I'm glad they fixed that because they are a beautiful family!
We had a few sprinkles of rain,
but the sun shone through to give us just the light we needed for some great pictures.
But what really made their pictures great was the love and laughter this family shares!
Enjoy!

chubby cheeks, great lashes, and dramatic poses.

Chubby cheeks:  Baby Sophie.  She's so bright eyed and a-dor-a-ble.
Great lashes:  Almost three year old Carson (aka "Catch me if you can").
Dramatic poses:  Hayden. Perhaps a career in acting or modeling is in his future.

It's amazing what we did in an hour...
We rode elephants and giraffes, played imaginary lightsabres, snuggled in a wagon, visited a few zoo animals, laid on a blanket, sat on a log and a ledge, shared a sucker, played peek-a-boo, discussed CS Lewis,
and so much more.
These images give a little peek into our time with the Frerichs in the park.

a family, a farm, and fifty years.

The Litwiller Family.
Morris the cat sneaked into the picture.
It was so nice of him to join us.
We usually have to work hard to get pets to cooperate for pictures.
But not Morris.
He just showed up.

The farm hold years of memories for three generations of this family.
Colorful trees,
a home full of history,
and a glorious golden sunset
added to a wonderful time of picture-taking...
and brownie eating when we were done
with the picture-taking.
.
Herb and Liz will be celebrating their 50th anniversary next month.
I love the pictures we caught of them at the "hitching post."
We pray you have many more years together!

 Pretty pretty Abby.

And then Morris decided to cross the street.
The end.
