preston and brothers.

Oh the magic of having Mommy nearby,
while Mr. John makes funny faces and monkey sounds behind the photographer's head.
Works like a charm!

The last time we were at Preston's house,
fall was approaching.
He was a wee little thing snuggled in a basket.
Just a few months later, he's crawling everywhere and trying to pull himself up.
Even though he's grown so much,
he still has those deep liquid eyes and sweet, sweet smiles.

We had beautiful morning sun pouring through the windows.
Big brother Zachary took a look outside and told us all about the snow,
while Gavin taught his dad how to play chess.
(I love the thoughtful expression on his face.)
At nine months old,
Mr. Preston is not too sure about the whole walking thing...
but we'll be back in June for his one year pictures.
Maybe by then, he'll feel differently about being on his feet.

get some yum.

In case you live in the Bloomington/Normal area and haven't heard,
Sugar Mama Bakery officially opened its doors last week.

Before the official grand opening,
friends and family gathered to celebrate, and we caught a few images of the event.

Cheers!
Be sure to stop in at Sugar Mama for some yum.

These two are just trying to figure out what flavors will be served at their wedding.

in between.

Posing little ones can be an exercise in patience.
Getting the perfect composition, with beautiful natural light, and a willing toddler
is a tall order.
In the end, my favorite images are usually the ones caught in between.
Like these.
Life is more authentic "in between."
Dontcha think?
